Spin Cycle Last 2 weeks and Happy Holidays

Happy Chanukah and Merry Christmas....
My past 2 weeks of Spin have been killer - packed classes, high energy and great music.
2 weeks ago, a few songs on the playlist came from the soundtrack to Madagascar 2 - I LOVE the soundtrack. It was mainly composed by will.i.Am and Hans Zimmer. Hans Zimmer is a legendary composer and has done so many movies, I couldn't know where to start. will.i.am actually does a great job going on this excursion out of hip hop. The playlist also has 2 songs by Coldplay from their recently released EP Prospekt's March. In my (humble) opinion, these 2 songs are 2 of their best, and I am wondering why they didn't make it onto Viva La Vida. Prospekt's March is really a continuation of Viva La Vida and is really solid.
Here is the playlist:
1. You Are The Best Thing - Ray LaMontagne
2. Just Dance - Lady GaGa
3. Glass of Water - Coldplay
4. I Like To Move It - will.i.am
5. Live Your Life - T.I. (with Rhiana)
6. Volcano - Hans Zimmer
7. Not My Time - 3 Doors Down
8. Spend Some Time - Jimmy Eat World (Is this the correct title, or is it Pain???)
9. Rainy Day - Coldplay
10. Made To Measure - Umphrey's McGee
11. The Travelling Song - will.i.am
12. Party! Party! Party! - Hans Zimmer
13. Rescue Me - Hans Zimmer
14. Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It) - Beyonce
15. If I Were A Boy - Beyonce
16. Best Friends - will.i.am

Last week's playlist I acutally made in early November, but never got around to playing until this past week. It's just some random tunes that I put together, no rhyme or reason behind them, other that I liked them....
1. Dancing Queen - ABBA
2. Down Boy - moe.
3. The Hustle - Van McCoy
4. Get Down - Groove Armada
5. Get Down Tonight - KC & the Sunshine Band
6. Begin To Spin Me Round - Dannii Minogue (from Nike Remix Album)
7. Dance Sister Dance (Baila Mi Hermana) - Santana
8. Lady Marmalade - Labelle
9. Bright Lights, Big City - Umphrey's McGee
10. Dicso Lies - Moby
11. You Don't Need To Dance - Breakestra
12. Falling Down - Durna Duran
13. Can You Feel It - Karl Denson

With the holidays this week and next, and the fact that all my classes fall on the day of the holiday and on either side, I will not teach for 2 weeks! So, look for another spin cycle in about 3 weeks. In the meantime, I'm going to post some pics of the kids and of the Chanukah cookies I made last week....

Spin Cycle Mid November-> now

yeah, yeah, I know, it's been a while. Well, I haven't made a playlist since my last post, and last week, with Thanksgiving, I had no classes to teach :(
This week I used the old playlist made up of primarily Joss Stone and Jamiroquai, last used here:
good music......the classes loved it, since the music is funky and has a great beat. Joss Stone has the greatest voice, and no, I'm not afraid to say, she is hot. Jamiroquai, I think is a musical genius....
My classes were packed this week as well, Wed night - 30 students, Thursday morning - 23 and Friday morning - 19...good numbers = good energy.
I'm working on a new list for this week (I just DL'd lots of new tunes, so hopefully I'll come up with something good and creative).
:) be on the lookout!
