My logo is done, and I've just begun to design the website.
I gave my notice with a tentative date (july 27), and I hope to be up in running in August!
:)
Off to the Cape for the weekend, and my class is cancelled for next week due to the July 4th holiday, so no Spin Cycle next week.
Happy holidays - enjoy the heat!

Spin Cycle 06/21/07

Ever wake in a panic, knowing you've overselpt?
Yup, that was me this morning.
My daughter had a tough sleeping night, and I was up with her a bunch of times. So when I fell back asleep again at 4 am, having to get up at 5 am, I was doomed!
Well, I woke up at 5:33 am, and bolted to make it to my class at 6 am.
I brushed my teeth in the car!

Again, no rhyme or reason to the tunes. Just a bunch that I like:

1) Teardrop - Massive Attack
2) Real Gone - Sheryl Crow
3) Who Knew? - Pink
4) Soulchild Remix - Gorillaz
5) Semi-charmed Life - Third Eye Blind
6) Rich Girl - Gwen Stafani
7) California Soul - Riot Act
8) Jump Around - House of Pain
9) Speed of Sound - Coldplay
10) Ring My Bell - Anita Ward
11) Smooth - Santana
12) Girl - Beck
13) Got to Be Real - CherylLynn
14) Pick up the Pieces - Gomez

The season has begun

I bought my first quarts of native strawberries today and they are truly scrumptious. They came from the Connecticut River Valley. It is a sign that farm season has begun. And wouldn't you know it, I got the email that my Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) share will start next week for the season!
Amazing, can't wait for the bounty to begin.

Spin Cycle 06/14/07

I call this my 2005 mix, because I think a lot of the songs on the list came out in 2005. I like this mix. It’s got a little bit of everything where pop is concerned. Again, it was pretty high energy, like last week, and the class worked hard. I also used this play list last night when I taught, and that class REALLY worked hard. It’s good to see.
Here it is:

1. The Way You Move - Outcast
2. Lose My Breath – Destiny’s Child
3. Stupid Girls – Pink
4. Don’t Phunk With My Heart – Black Eyed Peas
5. Check On It - Beyonce
6. Sorry – Madonna
7. Crazy In Love – Beyonce
8. Toxic – Britenay Spears
9. Independent Women – Destiny’s Child
10. This Is How a Heart Breaks – Rob Thomas
11. Hot in Herre - Nelly
12. Hey Ya – Outcast
13. Pump It – Black Eyed Peas
14. In the Sun (Gulf Coast Relief) – Michael Stipe with Chris Martin
15. Poor Me – Cold Play (I’m not sure if this is the correct name – it’s from the Fix You EP)

WOW.
That's what I have to say about this morning's class. I haven't taught a class this high energy and fast paced in a long, long time. It was good all around, everyone loved the music, everyone worked hard, very positive.

Tito, pass me a tissue, and Ms Jackson, you are nasty. That's right, it was a tribute to the Jacksons.
What more can I say?
Here's the list:
1. Don't Stop Till You Get Enough - MJ, Off The Wall
2. Pretty Young Thing (P.Y.T.) - MJ, Thriller
3. I Want You Back - The Jackson 5 - Jackson 5 Anthology
4. ABC - The Jackson 5 - Jackson 5 Anthology
5. The Love You Save - The Jackson 5 - Jackson 5 Anthology
6. Rock With You - MJ, Off The Wall
7. Black or White - MJ, Dangerous
8. Rhythm Nation - Janet Jackson, Janet Jackson's Rhythm Nation 1814
9. Workin' Day and Night - MJ, Off The Wall
10. Wanna Be Startin' Somethin' - MJ, Thriller
11. Escapade - Janet Jackson, Janet Jackson's Rhythm Nation 1814
12. Off The Wall - MJ, Off The Wall
13. Love Will Never Do (Without You) - Janet Jackson, Janet Jackson's Rhythm Nation 1814
14. Never Can Say Goodbye - The Jackson 5 - Jackson 5 Anthology
Good stuff - when MJ was still a "guy"....ahh, the good old days......
