Spin Cycle 01/25/07
Crystal Meth.
I mean the Crystal Method. I used music by the Crystal Method for class this morning.
It was one of those Nike Workout collaborations and it was pretty good. I actually ran to it on Tuesday morning, 5 miles, on the treadmill. 45 minutes of continuous music, light techno, as I like to call it. I had to add in a couple of songs on the end to cover the hour, which consisted of 2 Madonna tunes, Jump and Hung Up.
From iTunes:
Drive: Nike + Original Run, by The Crystal Method
Songs are continuous (1 track only on the pod):
1. Starting Line
2. It's Time
3. Roadhouse Blues (Original Dub), The Doors vs The Crystal Method
4. Method
5. It Hertz
6. Do It (Dub Pistols mix)
7. Don't Stop
8. Brand New Kicks
9. Bad Ass (Rogue Element Mix)
10. Glass Breaker (Force Mass Motion Mix)
11. Finish Line
I don't usually like to use all techno, but the beat is right on this mix, and it actually is quite listenable.
I taught an interval class to this music, and it worked perfectly.
Got a couple of "That was hard" comments after class....good, that's what I'm there for!!!
:) enjoy.

Oh Hell
Its never good when you get an email invitation to your supervisor's office for a "chat"...I guess I would consider this my review, as I haven't had it yet.
Today at 2:30....just in time to get slammed to go home miserable!
OH JOY!
A total loss
So, the 17 week session of Weight Watchers is complete. It actually turned out to be 19 weeks, as a couple of weeks had to be skipped and added on to the end of the session.
Total lost weight = 16.6 pounds!
A success for sure.
I am now on what WW calls "maintenance". If you can "maintain" your goal weight, with in
+2/-X lbs, for 6 weigh-ins after reaching your goal weight, you make what WW considers a Lifetime Member. The Lifetime Member can go to meetings for free for the rest of his/her life, the only stipulation is you have to weigh in at least 1x/month and be at that +2/-X lb weight from your goal weight.
I have had 3 maintenance weigh-ins, and need 3 more to make Lifetime Member.
I don't even remember the time of my life when I weighed what I weigh today - it's great. I have pants in my closet from back in 1999, when I was pretty slim, and they are too big for me.
My project now is wardrobe overhaul. I'm thinking of just waiting until Spring/Summer and buying new clothes for those seasons...really, I can deal with having a saggy, baggy ass for the months of January, February, March and April....The thing that I'm not liking is that my sweaters are all too big now as well, and look terrible on me. Some of these sweaters I've had for years, and are beautiful, (expensive), wool sweaters. Kind of a bummer. Oh well, I guess I need to get over it. It's more important to have lost the weight and feel good, rather then stay "heavy" and have sweaters that fit....
Happy Friday.

Lightning McQueen!
Some of the music from today's ride was from the movie Cars. With a 4.5 yr old boy around, this movie is getting some serious air time at my house. Hell, my 2 yr old girl loves it as well.
I like the movie score, and so a section of my ride today that I'll call the Cars Suite, was original score from the movie, composed by none other than Randy Newman.
The class had the feel of movement, and was fast paced with a steady "onward" type of flow.
I was paid a very nice complement after class by a woman who said it was the best class that she had taken in a long time, that the music was great, and that she appreciated my choreography to the music I played. Makes that 5am wake up call worth it, indeed.
1. A Million Ways - OK Go
2. Jung at Heart - Master Cylinder
3. Cars Trucks Buses - Phish
4. Real Gone - Sheryl Crow
Cars Suite:
5. New Road - Randy Newman
6. McQueen and Sally - Randy Newman
7. The Big Race - Randy Newman
8. Opening Race - Randy Newman
9. The Piston Cup - Randy Newman
10. Life is a Highway - Rascal Flatts
11. Low Rider - War
12. Stupid Girls - Pink
13. Bus Driver - Assembly of Dust
14. Race for the Prize - Flaming Lips
15. Get the Party Started - Pink
16. You're So Damn Hot - OK Go
17. Walk Along the River - Laurie Berkner
18. I'm Gonna Catch You - Laurie Berkner
19. Wimoweh (The Lion Sleeps Tonight) - Laurie Berkner

24 and a whole lot more
JACK is BACK!
24 started again this week, and it did not disappoint!
I'm liking the characters that they have back from the past seasons:
I can't believe that Wayne Palmer is President...how'd that happen?
Chloe is as sour as ever.
Bill Bucanan loosened up a bit and got the girl (Karen Hayes).
Annoying addition of that silly, little man from Ally McBeal, Peter MacNicol, who plays Thomas Lennox - I think he's going to be the rat of the season....
Love that they grew some balls and put back some good torture scenes - that stab to the knee looked PAINFUL.
Mondays will get even better when Prison Break starts next week.

Spin Cycle 01/04/07
Greetings and Salutations....sorry for the lack of posts.....I was on a family vacation, rocking on the seas of the warmer latitudes with the band moe., on their 2nd moe. cruise.
I celebrated my 150th moe. show on the boat.....
Here's my first Spin class from 2007. Obviously I didn't teach last week.
1. Testing 1, 2, 3 - Barenaked Ladies
2. You Know You Wrong - Big Bad Voodoo Daddy
3. Cut the Cake - Average White Band
4. Dancing Shoes - Arctic Monkeys
5. Since You Been Gone - Aretha Franklin
6. Think I'm in Love - Beck
7. Matumbana - Belladonna
8. Mardy Bum - Arctic Monkeys
9. Dancing with Myself - Billy Idol
10. I'm Your Boogie Man - K.C. & the Sunshine Band
11. We Are Family - Sister Sledge
12. Freedom 90 - George Michael
13. Welcome to Paradise - Green Day
14. Time Tough - Toots & the Maytals
15. No Rain - Blind Melon
I took a Spin class on the cruise. The instructor did a bunch of moves on the bike that you learn right off the bat NEVER to do. I just did my own thing and got my cardio in. I also ran on the treadmill a few times. That was an interesting experience. Trying to run on the treadmill, while negotiating the rock of the boat was a workout in itself. Regardless, getting the exercise in made the drinks go down more "guilt-free"....:)
