Spin Cycle 08/20-22/08, 08/27,26/08 and this week

Ah, the earth turns and the sun sleeps longer and longer, thus making my 5 am workouts sort of a drag.....when I'm not teaching at 6am, I'm working out at home at 5am...
The music from 2 weeks ago was my International playlist. You can check it out here: Ole!
Last week's music was an old playlist from Memorial Day 2006. It was before I started posting the lists. So here it is for the first time:
1. Seniorita - Justin Timberlake
2. Sin Wagon - Dixie Chicks
3. Tear Your Love Apart - Gomez
4. Walk Away - Kelly Clarkson
5. How We Operate - Gomez
6. Otherside - Red Hot Chili Peppers
7. Caught Up - Usher
8. Everybody Got Their Something - Nikka Costa
9. Gotta Jibboo - Phish
10. Hamoa Beach - Gomez
11. AM Radio - Everclear
12. Hips Don't Lie - Shakira
13. Cry On Demand - Gomez
14. See The World - Gomez

This week we rode to music by a DJ called LTJ Bukem. I have used his music before, and do not have that much time to explain it; it basically is jazz/techno/downbeat music that is melodic and good to ride to.
New playlist for next week's classes.....

Spin Cycle 08/13-15/08

Therapy is working! At least on my pelvis it is. My back however still pains me, and it's getting old. The PT guy and I just started working on my back on Monday, and unfortunately, I had to cancel my 2nd session this week. The exercises he gave me are not really doing much for my back. I'm continuing to do my pelvic exercises though, because they are strengthening my glutes (AKA my butt) and my core as well. If there is an upside to all this, I guess it would be my backside is getting a workout.

Anyways, I L-O-V-E Love my music from last week. I did a 10 minute lop with the class and repeated it 3-4 times depending on the length of the class, adding in some intervals to make the loop harder as we went along. It was great.
Here is the music:
1. Underneath - Alanis Morissette
2. Give it 2 Me - Madonna
3. Suitcases - Lotus
4. Ray of Light - Madonna
5. Burnin' Up - The Jonas Brothers
6. Blue Monday - New Order
7. Jacqueline - James Hunter
8. Music - Madonna
9. Surprise - Gnarls Barkley
10. Disturbia - Rhianna
11. Just Fine - Mary J Blige
12. S.O.S - The Jonas Brothers
13. Stop and Stare - One Republic
14. One - Mary J Blige and U2

I had a bunch of songs picked out for my spinlist this week, however, I haven't had time to arrange it. I most likely will use it next week.
Till next time!

Spin Cycle 08/06-08/08

The back saga continues.
I went to the back specialist that I was referred to. Not only did he NOT look at the MRI films, but he only skimmed the radiologist report, didn't test my reflexes or give me a neuro exam (as my husband the doc said he would). Instead, he had me bend over to touch my toes, lift my left and right knees and poked my butt cheeks asking, does this hurt?
His diagnosis: it has nothing to do with the degenerating discs in my back, as that is "normal for my age", but rather, it is my pelvis. Hmm, is a 2nd opinion in order?
Anyways, physical therapy is in order, so if after the 4-6 weeks of PT, my back is no better, I will seek another opinion.
For spin this week, I was working on a new playlist, but wasn't able to complete it, so I went back into the archives to June 2007 and used my "summer" playlist, a compilation of songs having to do with summer, to recognize the heat that we have endured.
You can check it out here: summer
I am finishing up the playlist for this week....

Spin Cycle - the last 2 weeks

I just realized that I never posted last week's music...hmm, I've been extremely busy (which I guess is good)....
Both this week and last were tough for me. My lower back has been sucking lately, and I finally went to the DR about it. My back has actually been hurting for over 4 months.
I had an MRI last Saturday. FREAKY. Have you ever had an MRI? Yikes. It's crazy. Total claustrophobia. Anyways, thank god for the MRI. Just got the results, and basically my L3-L4 and L4-L5 discs are screwed. So many terms (disc herniation, dessication, spinal stenosis, bulging discs)....who knows. On to step 2 of the process, the back specialist. I'll keep you informed.

Music from last week:
1. Le Femme D'Argent - Air
2. Pon de Replay - Rihanna
3. VooDoo Child - Angelique Kidjo
4. You Should Be Dancing - The Bee Gees
5. Shakey Ground - Phoebe Snow (NY Rock-n-Soul Review)
6. Closer - Ne-Yo
7. Knock on Wood - Michael McDonald, Phoebe Snow (NY Rock-n-Soul Review)
8. You're No Good - Betty Everet
9. Closer - Chris Brown
10. Musicology - Prince
11. It's Not Over - Daughtry
12. Praise You - Fatboy Slim
13. Deep Water - Seal
14. Behind Blue Eyes - The Who

Music from this week was my SexyBack playlist that basically consisted of Justin Timberlake, Breakestra and 2 others (Kim Carnes and Gary Numan). You can check it out here: Justin is hot.
I'm working on a playlist for next week already....should be good.
:) have a good weekend.
